Meet Ashley

Ashley Bowes Cash is a real estate and oil & gas investor and a passionate advocate for transforming K–12 education in the United States. Through her education movement, she works to transform education to a skills-based learning model that better prepares students for a meaningful, financially independent life.

Drawing from decades of experience in real estate, land development, banking, ranching, and investing, Ashley witnessed firsthand how the lack of financial literacy and practical skills negatively impacts individuals and families. This led her to become deeply involved in education policy work in Texas, where she advocates for strong reading proficiency, financial literacy, communication and debate skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence.

Ashley is the host of The Ashley B. Cash Show podcast, bringing together educators, policymakers, business leaders, and parents to discuss the shortcomings of the current education system and explore solutions that better align education with real-world career opportunities and workforce needs.

Ashley currently serves her second term as a Commissioner on the Texas Governor's Commission for Women and was most recently appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve on the Texas Bicentennial Commission. She has extensive experience fundraising at the local, state, and federal levels and serves on the Board of the Texas Tech Foundation, the National Ranching Heritage Association, the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute, and The Cash Family Foundation. She previously served on the Advisory Board of the Gordon W. Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources at Texas Tech University and with the Lubbock Entertainment & Performing Arts Association.

Ashley is a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She lives in Lubbock, Texas, with her husband, Clay, and their four children.
